We are so pleased to welcome Stephen Wendel, Software Engineer, to the team. You can learn more about Stephen below.
Tell us about yourself. Where are you from?
Born an identical twin in New Jersey, but spent most of my childhood in Arizona. I moved back east for college and haven’t left. I currently reside in upstate New York with my wife, 3 daughters and 2 dogs.
Where did you go to school?
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI)
How did you get into software engineering? What areas of your field do you like to focus on?
Summer internship my first year at RPI. I prefer to focus more on system architecture and back-end development.
Do you have a code of ethics or a mantra that you live by when doing your work?
Climb that hill, stay on your feet.
How do our core values (collaboration, initiative, ingenuity) align with your own?
I’m a strong believer that there is more than one way to solve a problem, and mine may not always be the right way. The best solutions come as a result of being creative and collaborating with all involved parties.
What do you want to learn in the next 12 months as a software engineer? What do you want to learn about the web development industry?
I want to gain more experience with front-end technologies. I want to learn more about how organizations can leverage artificial intelligence to solve business problems in a reliable and meaningful manner.
What’s a hobby you’ve always wanted to pick up but never did?
A musical instrument.
What is the one thing most people don’t know about you?
I enjoy watching murder mystery and crime dramas.
