mentor to Lily

Buckeye, mentorship, and budding talent

Here at Buckeye, we love it when we get to see talent blossom. Two of our team members, Melanie (business development) and Tony (design) recently had the opportunity to work with and mentor Lily, a local high schooler. They had nothing but fantastic things to say about her:

Melanie

I was our main communicator with Lily. I helped coordinate the meetings with Lily between our team. I also hosted Lily at Innovate New Albany in January. During our time together we discussed what she was interested in as well as had a pairing session with Tony surrounding design. (Lily loved the design portion of her pairing). I also met with Lily to help prepare her presentation and to find feedback. I’m looking forward to keeping in touch with her!

Tony

I was fortunate enough to meet Lily, a talented artist with a creative spark, to discuss a career in web design. We talked about my typical workflow, the tools I use, the important things to focus on as she’s learning, and the industry overall. She asked some great questions, and I provided some advice. I walked away very impressed by Lily and have no doubts that if she sticks to the path she’s on, she’ll be leading design somewhere in a few years!

We’re excited for Lily and her future, and we can’t wait to see what she does next. Are you interested in working with our team and finding out a little bit more about what we do? We want to hear from you. Get in touch — we’d love to help you grow and amplify your impact.
