Buckeye Interactive receives two Achievement in Marketing Awards from the Columbus chapter of the American Marketing Association

NEW ALBANY, Ohio (February 6, 2017) — The Columbus chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) presented two awards to Buckeye Interactive for Achievement in Marketing in 2016. The two awards received were: the Silver Award for the Web, Mobile & Interactive Division and the Bronze Award for the Digital Displays Category. These awards, among others, were announced at the AMA dinner and awards ceremony on Thursday, January 26th.

Buckeye Interactive developed custom digital Discovery Boards for Columbus Metropolitan Library. This one-of-a-kind project is what won the team these awards. The library has been a client of Buckeye Interactive’s since 2014. That year was the beginning of its 10-location library renovation.

Additionally, The Columbus Metropolitan Library Foundation (CML) previously partnered with Buckeye Interactive on the Foundation’s website. This was along with its Great Libraries Create campaign microsite, which successfully raised $21,500,000 to help renovate and innovate 10 urban and suburban locations. These interactive 70-inch digital discovery boards are part of that innovation.

“I’ve spent hundreds of hours at branches of Columbus Metropolitan Library since I was a kid,” Brad Griffith, President & CEO of Buckeye Interactive, said. “The first books I read about coding I checked out from the library, and my love for building technology grew there. I’m thrilled to give back to the library using the same knowledge it shared with me. Our team is thankful to be recognized by AMA Columbus for our collaboration with the Columbus Metropolitan Library.”

The Discovery Boards are both functional and aesthetic, with ADA-compliant features. Customers are able to view library materials and interact with digital content. The boards also showcase popular content, programs and services, and the day’s meeting schedule.

“The discovery boards in our new and renovated spaces are yet another way Columbus Metropolitan Library is creating 21st-century libraries,” Debra Pack, Marketing Manager for Columbus Metropolitan Library, said. “The interactive boards are a new way for our customers to learn about what the library is all about—books, digital content, programs, and services, including free meeting rooms that can be reserved for gatherings. We also wanted to provide wayfinding maps to guide customers in our new and renovated spaces. We were happy to once again work with Buckeye Interactive on this effort. They were able to take our vision and turn it into reality.”

Stop into the Main Library, Parsons Branch, Shepard Branch, or Northern Lights Branch to see the boards in action.
