Myers Tire Supply (MTS) is the largest distributor of tools, supplies, and auto shop equipment for the tire, wheel, and under-vehicle service industry. Ultimately, MTS sells everything that professionals need to service passenger car, truck, and off-road tires.. They recognized that their mobile app—used by both salespeople and tire shop employees—was becoming increasingly vital to their business. As the app grew in popularity, it needed updates and new features to handle the rising demand. Myers Tire Supply turned to Buckeye Innovation for ongoing monthly support to help maintain and enhance the app, ensuring it could scale and evolve alongside their expanding business.
Buckeye Innovation took a collaborative approach to address Myers’ needs. First, the teams worked together to identify a backlog of features and improvements that they would like to address. We met regularly to prioritize these requests, focusing on the enhancements that bring the most impact to users.
Early on in our process, Buckeye developed a custom dashboard that provided real-time insights into app usage, helping Myers understand how their sales teams and customers interacted with the app. This data-driven approach informed future updates and improvements.
One major enhancement was the addition of an approval feature, which allowed shop managers to review and approve orders. This was a significant upgrade from the previous manual, pencil-and-paper system. Buckeye also improved the app’s usability for tire shop employees by incorporating a UPC code scanning feature, and the ability to print labels directly from the mobile device for easy inventory management.
The enhancements made a significant impact on Myers Tire Supply’s operations. The approval feature and streamlined ordering process improved efficiency, reducing errors and saving time for clients and customers. Many tire shops felt the app had greater value with the approval feature and scanning capability, which grew the user base significantly. Order volume has been increasing steadily as the app’s functionality grows.
