The Challenge

A need for continuity

The Village of Obetz needed a website redesign from someone familiar with building and maintaining the intricacies of government entity websites. They had last redesigned their website more than five years before we launched their new site. They had experienced significant growth in businesses located in the village while still maintaining a broad array of services for residents including a beautiful community center and park system. We wanted to maintain some of the content of the old site while completely rethinking the design.

One of the top challenges in designing the new site was the wide variety of constituents in the village. This included industrial and logistics businesses to the Columbus Crew Training Center to the residents. Changing local government administrations over the course of the project brought challenges in the continuity of staffing. Our team provided much of the continuity that was needed to see the site through to completion.

The Process

Branding and responsiveness

Our designer, Tony, created custom homepage and interior page concepts to match the updated Obetz branding and logo. The Village of Obetz especially wanted the website to highlight the events calendar and allow site administrators to easily create contact forms.

In addition to the responsive interface, our developers integrated Google Analytics to track website traffic, Google Translate to instantly translate text, Yoast SEO for WordPress, Gravity Forms, and MailChimp.

The Impact

A new site for a growing city

We were able to give the new site a modern look, a more simple navigation menu, intuitive site search feature, an easier way to maintain content, and  added functionality for booking park facilities. We continue to support and maintain the website in collaboration with the Village.
